Welcome
to the world of Original Talley.
I
began my woodworking career as an apprentice to my father (a general
contractor) in 1978. After twenty years in the building trade, construction
became less of a challenge. It was then I started to experiment with
furniture design.
I
really enjoyed searching, finding and working with found materials.
Sometimes the design was dictated by the objects I discovered.
This in turn made my work truly “one of a kind.” Once
those materials were gone, the original work could never be duplicated.
As I continued to grow in my design and craftsmanship, my work
has evolved into what you see today.
I
design tables, benches and chairs, cabinets, mirrors, bookcases
and wall units, as well as wall sculptures, mailboxes and medicine
chests. The Portfolio link will take you to samples
of those objects and more: it is much more interesting to see functional
art than read about it.
I
truly love what I do and it is my goal to share this passion with
anyone who is willing to enjoy it.
